Stellar Energy Announces the Beijing Jingneng Stellar Energy Technology Co., Limited Inc., a Joint Venture with Leading China Energy Provider
Stellar Energy, a global provider of district cooling and gas turbine inlet air conditioning solutions, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Beijing Hua Yuan Heating Pipeline Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beijing Energy. The Beijing Jingneng Stellar Energy Technology Limited Inc. joint venture partners Beijing Energy's extensive power holdings and energy infrastructure with Stellar Energy's expertise in district cooling in order to provide turnkey energy solutions for the Chinese market. The agreement marks Beijing Energy's first joint venture with a foreign company. Says Tom Brady, Vice President and General Manager of Stellar Energy Asia, "We are honored to be working with Beijing Energy, and look forward to joining forces with them to deliver state-of-the-art district energy systems to serve China's growing economy and help meet national clean air standards."
District energy is the distribution of energy from a centralized plant to several buildings in a district. Centralizing the energy infrastructure, including cooling, heating and electricity, offsets the need for mechanical rooms in each building within the district. As a result, district energy can reduce operating and maintenance costs, reduce carbon emissions and provide an efficiency improvement of up to 40 percent.
