Turbine Inlet Air Chilling (TIAC) is a commercially proven way to improve power producers' profitability by increasing a gas turbine's power output by up to 35 percent, often at one-third the cost of a new turbine and half that of a new peaking plant. TIAC also supports better efficiency and operational flexibility especially when integrated with Thermal Energy Storage (TES). In addition to its use in power generation, turbine inlet air chilling is utilized in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production in order to maintain optimum intake air temperatures for the gas turbines which are used as compressor drivers in the liquefaction process.
