Project Solution
The long-term, sustainable solution facilitates chilled water production and distribution to provide cooling capacity for the campus buildings, and is easily scalable if production demand increases.
The new system replaced a previous chiller plant without operational downtime since the modules were built at Stellar Energy's Jacksonville, Florida fabrication facility. In addition to its expertise in modular chiller plant design and fabrication, Stellar Energy was selected for its in-house architectural resources. The plant features a limestone façade that is harmonious with the University's design. The chiller modules fabricated for the Kansas State University Veterinary Medicine Complex feature four chillers, with space and provisions for a fifth chiller to be added at later date, a heat exchanger and variable speed pumps. In addition, the modular plant includes office space for site staff.
